About the Foundation

"Nadajyoti Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar Foundation", is a public charitable institution functioning for over a decade, with the primary objective of propagating the Kritis and Spiritual Dimensions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar, one of the Trinities of Carnatic Music, whose compositions have been known for both healing qualities as well as aesthetic appeal.

Our specific objectives are :

  • To institute awards for any research on Dikshitar's compositions, throwing fresh light on their relevance in Hindu Philosophy and Shastras.
  • To popularize the rare Kritis of Dikshitar, which are scarcely sung in public concerts.
  • To showcase upcoming talents and encourage them to learn and perform Dikshithar's compositions.
  • To organize programmes and concerts with exclusive Dikshitar songs including thematic concerts.
  • To organize special programmes on Dikshthar in all pilgrim centres having temples whose presiding deities were visited and worshipped by him.
  • To translate his songs into other languages to enable the general public to understand the rich content and message in his works.
  • To establish a teaching institute that would initiate students into "Shakthi" upasana by competent, eligible teachers.
  • To organize meetings, seminars across the country to create awareness of Dikshitar Kritis and its potential to bring about peace and prosperity.
  • To organize Music contests on Dikshithar's Kritis for students of music instititutions and academic institutions.

    • Every year, the Foundation organizes concerts on the occasion of Sri Dikshitar's Birth and Death Anniversary. These concerts are performed in memory of and as a humble tribute to the great musical luminary

    The Managing Trustee

    Sri S.K. Venkataraman

    Sri S.K. Venkataraman is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. He has held several senior positions in the corporate sector. His personal experience in the healing and other powers of the kritis of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar, kindled his interest in acquiring knowledge about the life and works of the great musical luminary. This led to the inception of the Nadajyoti Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar Foundation, over a decade ago as he felt that the knowledge about Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar must be propagated to one and all and especially to the youth of India. Through the Nadajyoti Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar Foundation, he is focusing on bringing out the musical abilities of the youth, encouraging talent and providing them a platform to show case their talents. He is also the founder of the Thinkers International, Corporate Yoga and Human Care. He is also a Trustee of the Nalandaway Foundation, a Foundation that works with children from challenging situations from the poorest districts in India. He is also known for his commitment to the cause of children's education and other pioneering endeavours concerning the welfare of children
